Putting my child in Nursery

I have a 2YO son, he has recently become obsessed with dinosaurs and has taken on attributes like stomping, roaring, occasional biting of his sister and generally not listening to a word I’m saying.

He is quite attached to dad and finds it hard when he goes to work or is left with grandparents etc. He regularly tells me that he doesn’t like me which is quite upsetting, with both me and dad being self employed and having to work alternating long shifts I’m finding it a bit difficult to control him and his behaviour and I think other family members aren’t disciplining when he acts like this (making it alooottt harder for me) I’m literally at the point of quitting work and focusing on him but with having bills to pay I don’t think it’s the wisest decision.

I was thinking maybe Nursery/day are once a week to mix with other children may be good for him (a little less adult time for him) but I’m scared he’s going to be “that kid” in Nursery and it makes me feel sick. And if I was going to put him into Nursery how do I tell the provider of my difficulties without them refusing him?

Thank you
Imogen

Can he be socialised without going to Nursery? Do he go to anything like gymtots, wild play or swimming or even the local playgroup?
