Is it normal for puberty to start at aged 7 (nearly 8)? Dd has been really stroppy this last week getting cross with me for not understanding what she means and getting cross when I tell her to do something. It's all so not her.
Today I noticed she had abit of sweaty smell under her arms which she has never had before too so I sent her to get washed and she was quite pleased to put a bit of deo roll on under her arms.
So is this the start of it? I know a friends dd started with puberty aged 7 but it went so far that she's had to stop it with hormones.

Sounds like the precursor to it to me. I can remember getting that sweaty smell at about aged 8 and puberty starting at 9 and it seems as though girls nowadays are starting younger.

Does she know about periods etc? I didn't and it came as a real shock to me!

Maybe a visit to Doctor/school nurse just as a precaution?

and Good Luck!

Admylin, there's a vaguely relevant thread here www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=8&threadid=343387&stamp=070623194753 which has some links in it. Hth.

OMG, my little girl! I'd better get myself down to the book shop and get a few books to help - I just didn't think this would start 'til she was 10 or 11 really.I remember myself having a bumper bag of pads in my bottom drawer from aged 10 but this has hit me too soon!
