My little boy has got his 2 year assesment coming up and I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what it involved and what to expect?

Thanks

No idea but DD is 2 next week - is this something you get an automatic appointment for or is it something you need to arrange.

Most areas in th UK are phasing them out. All that will be left is a review before the start of primary school.

I think you could request a check though.

ds had one automatically, but dd (2 last week) won't get one.

HV went through an ancient ladybird picture book and ds had to name everything. Bit of scribbling and tower building and a chat about toilet training (ha ha!).

DD1 had to do a wooden puzzle and pretend to cook with toy pans. The HV also checked she could follow instructions (fetching something from the other side of the room) and measured her height and weight. The HV tried to involve her in conversation but dd1 (fairly typical of a 2 year old meeting a stranger) didn't say much.

The 2-year checks have now been phased out in my area (and in most areas, I think). There is a questionnaire to complete at around age 3.
