Could teething do this?

Whenever DD has teeth that are pushing through she seems to go off her milk and throw up entire meals (esp those that are quite milky / creamy). Has anyone else had this happen?

I was told (many moons ago when my DCs were tiny) that because they salivate more when they are teething, this can make them more likely to vomit.
But I'm probably wrong, and an old wife with a groundless tale.
Someone wiser is bound to be more helpful.
