(in our family, that'd make you Best Mum In The World. Ever! Except for actually signing them u[ to take part in Robot Wars, obviously)

filthymindedvixen · 18/06/2007 19:53

That was to Caz, but Califrau, that's a fairly spectucalr list too...

Kaz33 · 18/06/2007 20:00

It was rather noisy, though DS2 (4) managed to fall asleep which I thought was quite an achievement

filthymindedvixen · 18/06/2007 20:00

where was it?? I didn't know it was still going. It's one of ds1's greatest ambitions to build a robot for that.

DD has been signed up to start water babies. Does that count? And we went for a walk in the woods today, does that count?

Kaz33 · 18/06/2007 20:07

Robot wars (BBC) has been over for years, but these robot wars are put on by a group of enthusastists who originally made robots for the TV programme. They are on tour at the moment.
Their website is roamingrobots.co.uk

It was suitably noisy, a bit disorganised and there was a lot of banging of metal and some juicy mayhem.

Roboteers get ready. 1,2,3 activate

Aloha · 18/06/2007 20:11

God so much stress in the Aloha household at the moment
But did take ds to French class after school today (nightmare). he also used the Fire of London as a metaphor when we were writing a story together about the importance of doing what he is told at school and not shouting and making a fuss and making a small problem into a big one (like the Fire of London, pipes up ds)
and dd passed her two year check with flying colours, and hugely impressed the HV by starting a sentence with the word 'actually'
'Actually, dis one is a cow'

Ds has been horrific this week. He has a school trip to the seaside tomorrow and thank GOD dh is going. I have had a headache all day.

pavlovthecat · 18/06/2007 20:11

Well - if I am to follow suit as the latest posts it should read really

Signed up for water babies (potential Thorpedo)
Went for a walk in the woods, found a stick (Ray Mears).

Tell me I have missed the point and I shall cry.

Aloha · 18/06/2007 20:12

Oh, and today I did a bio age test, mostly testing reaction times and cognitive function, and came out as 49 Swizz. Mind you, I feel about 149.

Highlight of my day (not) was 90 minutes hunting for "the critters" in DD's hair. I think I deserve the award for today's most devoted mum, TIA.

SueW · 18/06/2007 22:24

I was one of three mums who organised a Ball for 300 parents and staff at school which was a huge success. I took DD at her request to a non-school friend's for the weekend - driving through thunderstorms - so DH & I could attend said Ball but before I did, I took her to a LAMDA exam on Saturday.

Who am I? Do I qualify as alpha mum? Or is organising Ball too self-serving?
