For as long as I can remember, since my son turned one, he has had awful behaviour problem.
He cannot sit still for 5 mins. Even if we are on a train or a bus, he will not sit still. He keeps fidgeting and fighting me then arches his back and screams because I won't let him down. If I put him down even for one nanosecond, he runs off and goes absolutely everywhere! It's like he never runs out of steam. Even with a harness, he arches and screams cos he doesn't want to be controlled.
Every day he is just naughty. He will throw things if he doesn't get his own way, he headbutts and hits people. He can communicate in a couple of words but not a full sentence. I can't even go out shopping with him cos if I stay still even for 2 mins in the buggy otherwise he will start tantrums and screaming the shops down! He behaves well at childminders and he is well disciplined there as well!
He does sleep well and all night, he is well stimulated and has many toys to play with and communicates well but this behaviour is getting ridiculous. Toddlers who are the same age as he is do NOT act like this and I am extremely envious actually because I miss out taking him to outings because he will always play up and embarrass me.
Other toddlers know sit and eat sensibly with people! He doesn't. When we have dinner, he won't eat he will just run around in circles and I have to chase him and feed him! He just won't sit just to eat breakfast lunch or dinner. Going out for meals is pathetic, my dinner ends up cold cos again, I am chasing him around like a lemon trying to sit him down to eat his food!
I am seriously considering taking him doctors but am I just overreacting here? We have ADHD in my family so that's why I'm really concerned. Should I see the doctors or HV?
