I’m at my wits end here. My six year old daughter keeps repeating herself. I’ll give you examples.
What did you do at your friends? She answers I don’t know, I don’t know. I say did you go to the park? She says I don’t know. Say ok say ok.
Then I have to say ok.
She says say it nice
I say ok.
She then says, say I’m a good girl, I say your a good girl. She says say it again, I need to repeat.
She only does this with me and it’s every conversation. I’m stressed.
She’s a quiet girl, some anxiety issues and quite clingy. She’s plenty of friends.

What’s your gut feeling on this one OP?

Sounds like she is may be seeking approval or reassurance? Interestingly my 4 year old has just started doing similar. She seems very aware if emotions at the moment. She hates being told off, can't stand it if I'm not smiling at her (often shouts at me to smile and will put hands on my lips).
Have you tried giving commentary on your day/ what you've been doing? At this age my DC found it hard to talk about their day.

How long has this been going on for?
