do children have a kind of moody stage around five?

dd's been saying she dosn't really love me any more today I am gutted! is sh testing boundaries or what is going on? where's my little girl gone? she's morphed into someone I don't recognise overnight. help!

My dd is five and is a complete door slamming teenager already. She has a screaming fit at least 10 times a day but is strangely angelic at school. Makes me feel just fab!

Yes, mine is the same. Has done nothing but cry since she came home, in a whingy cry-ey voice.

I ignore it most of the time tbh.

no-one told me this would happen! it's horrible. she says I shout at her all the time - I really don't! in fact I've always made a point of trying not to shout and be moody!

Mine too! It's like she's hit her teenage years early. I feel all I do is tell her off and all she does is whine. Its just another stage they go through that I'm sure they will come out of, but really frustrating when you seem to have lost your angelic daughter! (She's still in there!!)

keep worrying she's had a bad day at school and on't tell me. she says she hasn't though!

I think all you can do is (probably what you already do), tell her that you love her very much and that if she needs to chat with you about anything you will always listen. It maybe something she's heard at school. Don't worry too much I'm sure she'll be fine in the morning, it's been a long week for little ones.

yeah, she is worn out. still singing to herself even after school, playground till 6pm, tea, bath and 3 stories. prob over-tired.
