2 year old can’t sit still!

Hi my 2 year old son has a really short attention span and just can’t sit still. He’s always moving, throwing his head around, running and jumping. Does this sound about right for a 2 year old or is it something more. He can’t sit on a chair or in his buggy or on the sofa as he just starts squirming. When does this behaviour start to slow down. I dread taking him anywhere as he just runs around. Even at the park he’ll only sit in the swing for a few pushes before he wants to get out then back in again...

I'm no expert but on its own this doesn't sound like a cause for concern. My youngest DD is nearly 2 and a half and also doesn't ever sit still. She doesn't even like being read to or watching TV (!) as that involves sitting still. She is on the move pretty much all the time - it's exhausting. But I think it's normal for toddlers, at least ime.
