6 year old boy

For the second time today my 6 year old son has cried when told off and cried in such a way that makes me feel that he feels badly done too, and that he didn't do what he is being punished for. He was sent to his room so he has gone upstairs saying he isn't coming down for the rest of the day and then slammed his door. It is his brother's birthday today so I am sure he will be done for cake. ????

Maybe he's coming down with something, or tired? Most likely he's minding his brother being the centre of attention?

My almost 6 year old still cries (excessively imo) at the least little thing.... it is worse when he is tired. I have put it down to his personality - he had the most horrendous tantrums up until the age of 4 or so...
