Aww..is she dark-haired? My friends litttle girl is turkish and so very dark and we found out, when she asked to shave her legs ,that some kids in her class had been tesing her calling her monkey-girl

Won't be long before my DD (8) is the same, I'm just waiting for someone to say something as she does have quite hairy legs. I do know someone who shaved her Dd's legs at age 9. Not sure how I feel about it really, apart from the obv "oh no, don't grow up yet" thing.

no exceptionally dark hairs at all.

apparently a lad in her class has been commenting saying she has really long hairs on her legs.

i told her the age old myth that shaving makes them grow back darker and thicker.

I always remember my mum telling me not to be in a hurry as once you atart it is something you have to keep up and it becomes a pain. Didn't believe her but I do now and my fuzzy legs are proof of it.

I was around 14 (so twice the age) when a lad pointed out the hairs on my legs. At that age I was more than capable of telling him that he was just jealous they were on my legs and not his top lip.

And then I wore knee socks pulled up for 2 years until Mum let me shave them

My dd has very hairy legs and it's quite dark hair and she is only 4. Knowing that at some point she will get teased about it, I tell her regularly how lucky she is to have such hairy legs, because only the most beautiful girls have hairy legs. And that when she is older other kids might be jealous and tease her, but it's only because they wish they had hairy legs too because it would mean they were beautiful. I'm sure that at some point she won't buy it anymore, but at least hopefully some of the tale will remain with her and give her enough self worth to ignore the teasing.
