Screaming one year old

Hi all,

DS has developed a habit of screaming when he doesn’t get his way. He’s a lovely little boy and understands “no” but recently has just started to scream from the top of his lungs when I try to stop him from doing something that could potentially be dangerous.

How can I stop this?

Currently having the same issue with my boy who is nearly 2! I haven't found a concrete solution yet but I think it definitely depends on the child.

For us I think what is beginning to work is ignoring the scream and letting it pass. Then taking his hand and explaining to him to mind his temper and repeat the instruction again calmly. He usually then calms down after a cuddle or two and does what he has been asked.

I think it's trial and error to find an approach that works for you as every child is different and responds to different things. You have my sympathy though as I know how difficult it can be!
