You see but you mustn't say anything nasty.

Personally I think Gina Ford's parenting policy is absolutely splendid and I have absolutley no criticisms whatsoever of the "Contented Little Baby Book". I disagree entirely with any ridiculous comparison with ballistic weaponry with babies attached being fired into Middle-Eastern countries. I also entirely refute any suggestion that it should more properly be called the "Contented Little Parent Book" - what a ludicrous suggestion. I applaud wholeheartedly her parenting style and absolutely condemn the suggestion some have raised that her change of heart may be anything whatsoever to do with the publication on 19 July of the her new book "The Contented Baby's First Year: A Month-by-month Guide to Your Baby's Development".

Hooray for Gina Ford!

Caroline - how very dare you criticise Gina! Anyone critical of her ideas frankly hasn't read the books, or hasn't read them properly, or can't read, or is a Homo Erectus who has not yet evolved the capacity to externalise its linguistic cognitive processes, so there .

Thanks to Gina Ford's parenting books, all of my kids have been raised with her excellent guidance and have all turned out fine (see family photo ).

I do feel that some of the Amazon reviews are overly critical of Gina. Thankfully the positive reviews on there must count 'for more' than the negative ones, as there are far more one-star reviews than 5 star reviews and yet the book STILL has 3 1/2 stars!! Come on girls, lets keep the love flowing, more positive reviews please!

I for one don't know how I would have coped without Gina's helpful advice to wake my baby up in the morning. I do remember looking pityingly at the other mums; when they were still curled up in bed at the crack of dawn, I was up already, dressed, made up AND having had breakfast, with a child that was up, dressed, fed, and playing constructively with a suitably educational toy, even on a Sunday

Did you know that an anagram of Miss Gina Ford is: "I, Ms Sangfroid", "Sadism For Gin" and even "I find orgasms".

Not sure whether there's any significance in any of that, though.

Gains From Sid has given us hours of joy and amusement so for that we thank her from the heart of our bottoms

LaBoheme · 14/06/2007 11:54

She's well fit

NoNoNoNo · 14/06/2007 12:19

Wow- and an anagram of

"Wonderful Gina Ford"

is

"A rundown girl, offed!"

How odd!

NoNoNoNo · 14/06/2007 12:24

or even
"A fringed round fowl"

just a note of caution,

do we not think that a thread like this, with sarcastic but witty posts could easily turn into the sort of thread that has just cost Mumsnet owners £00000s and their maternity leave?

Whether we disagree or agree with the history between GF and Mumsnet (& don't get me started on that ) I do think that this sort of thread should be brought to a swift end out of respect to Mumsnet and the harm it could do them.

Fair play - let's call it quits.

Nothing to see here - move along please.
