My nearly 5 year old son is quite a self concious, anxious child in general, but seems to have developed constant nervous ticks ( eg, blinking, sniffing, touching ears with shoulders, sticking neck out & the latest one is touching both ears or top of his nose!)
I have tried ignoring them but they didn't seem to go away & I have also tried to tell him to stop, but that just makes him more concious of it & he does it more.
He does suffer with ENT problem's & is due to have his tonsils & adenoids removed soon & he also may need grommits fitted.
I do not know if this is any way related.
It seems to get worse when he is nervous or excited for some reason & I do not know what to do about it.
I know that torret's syndrome is assosiated with ticks, so that worry has also crossed my mind.
I would say it has been going on for around a year & fast as he gets rid of one tick (he no longer blinks) it seems to be replaced with another.
If any one has been in a similar situation or has any advice or knowledge on this subject it would be very much appreciated.
