19 month old refusing to eat

Hi,

My 19 month old has suddenly become really difficult when it comes to eating.
He doesn't seem I'll at all and has no other symptoms other than refusing most of the food we offer.
It's been going on a week now and we never really know how he is going to be each mealtime.

Yesterday for example he refused his breakfast, ate some lunch and refused his tea.
This morning he ate his breakfast but has just refused point blank to eat any lunch.

I offer him a wide variety of meals including finger foods and more 'wet' textured foods like cottage pie. Nothing seems to please him. Not even his previously favourite foods like cheese or toast.

The only things he would eat are sweet flavoured items like fruit yoghurt or fruit itself.

Is this behavioural as he doesn't seem ill at all? In fact he is very playful at the moment!

My daughter does this every so often. Usually lasts about 4 days to a week. Sometimes turns out she is poorly a few days into it, others is completely random. Then other times she amazes me with how much she can eat so I think it all balances out.
