Hi everyone,
I have a 9 year old daughter who has for the past 2-3 months complained about being ill and it’s always at bedtime! She has asthma not bad just mild, and every night she will say she can’t breath properly or feels dizzy or something hurts. She also asks me if the hospital Is open ect! Does anyone else have this problem with their child? I’ve tired every thing I can think of with her but I’m now at a lose end. Xx

It could be a delaying tactic or some anxiety. How is she doing at school?

She seems to be doing really well in school. I quite often ask the teacher if she’s been ok in achool and she says she’s been absolutely fine. I’ve also had her school report and it was brilliant. I just don’t know why she does it before bed :(

How about socially? Is she ok with all her friendships?

I have a ten year old DD and a fourteen year old DD. My younger DD says that at night, she thinks too much and misses me. She also gets spooked.

I put on some nice easy music or a relaxation tape for her...Youtube has a lot. It can help them switch off.

Also what's she eating in the hours before bed? I well remember as a child, my nan used to always buy me a bottle of cherryade after school....well by 7.00pm I would be feeling ill and having tantrums. Linked to the cherryade I'm sure!

She’s has lots of friends in and out of school the only thing she moans about is the smelly boys 😂 lol she doesn’t really have anything before bed she’ll have her dinner around 5ish and then some sort of a pudding. She has to stop eating at 6.6.30ish because of an asthma tablet she has to take every night before bed she’ll have some water but that’s pretty much it. She’s absolutely fine during the day I don’t hear a peep from her about it but as soon as it’s bed time that’s it! She has every illness under the sun. X
