I am inthe process of a referral to CAHMS about my 5 year old suspected ASD ,ADHD & ODD, with the help of H/V but i know how long it can take to go along. His behaviour can be incredibly hard to manage it is literally relentless and often makes me ill. DH has recently (may) started working away which as i predicted has made his behaviour nosedive. I do all the write down onthe chalk board countdown with him but he is still horrendous behaviour wise, i had to go shopping with my mum today and she was getting as pissed off with him as i was and im just too exhausted. Im dreading the holidays, i already feel close to an early grave. If i went to the Drs and asked for some form of medication what would the response be generally? Would i be told to just wait for the Cahms process to complete? Im worried the latter as i need something now. I am completely and utterly alone during the week, with an older child with Autism to contend with aswell. Tbf they have Aspergers and generally pretty placid but does obviously have bad days aswell and when that happens and the older they get im basically scuppered arent I? Has anyone else asked a Dr for medication for there kids??

I’m not really sure about these sort of things? Are CAHMS able to diagnose or would beg need a referral to a Paeditrician for that? What sort of medication would you want him to be on?
