My son is in this range is it pretty average? I've never understood it all properly tbh

It means there are 11% of children his age smaller than him and 89% bigger than him. I'm 5ft2 and I'm 9th centile. My daughters are both 9th centile so I expect they will end up my height. My son is 0.4centile for height (so 99.6% of children his age are taller) and therefore we are concerned about his height. Hope that makes more sense.

Hi he's fairly tall for his age doesn't look underweight

The height and weight centiles can be different. Is he 11th centile for weight then? Unless he was very tall he wouldn't look underweight being 11th centile for weight. It's not very easy to compare children just by looking at peers so centiles help compare them to the population.
