Teething already?

My son is 4 months old in about two weeks and I think he may be showing signs of teething.

His cheeks are flush, and he’s started biting his bottom lip a lot. He’s been chewing his hands and drooling for weeks, but I put this down to just him exploring his hands more.

Anyway, the discomfort has all ramped up in the last week. More chewing, drooling, more crying out of nowhere, big pink cheeks and lovely, stinky green poos. No sign of any teeth or anything.

How long will this go on for before it calms down a bit. I’m aware that it could be months before we even see a tooth. Will it be constantly like this, or will it flare up for a week then calm down for a wee while then flare up again, or will it be just constantly irritation now until a tooth arrives?

He’s a regluxer and I think it’s making it worse too.

Our first teeth appeared at 4 months old. I think the symptoms lasted a week or 2 before they appeared.

Quick look inside and it looks like a canine is moving around up there.

It's so difficult to tell as each child is different. My ds started teething symptoms the same age as your dc but didn't get a tooth until 6.5 months, the symptoms for him were not constant for entire 2 months, some days/weeks were better than others. I recommend anbesol liquid from a chemist but im not entirely sure if there is an age its not allowed for or not, it numbs the gum a lot better than bongela and can be used every 3 hours which is more frequent than pain relief is allowed.

All of the symptoms are still ongoing, but he’s now also pawing at his left cheek/eye and across his nose. I know he’s not tired, because he doesn’t it all the time. Is rubbing face also related to teething?

Until tooth erupts he will drool etc, he’s still got more teeth to come in as well. Some days may be harder than other but it will stop..As recommended by the other lady get some teething stuff to rub on his gums and maybe one of those little teething rings you put in freezer for him to gnaw on.
Though not sure about the rubbing of face it’s been years since mine were babies, just put some mitts on to stop him scratching his face...nose mouth eyes and all that are all connected maybe hurting his sinuses, who knows if in doubt ask a doctor or nurse they’ll tell you
