Tummy time help

Morning!
Just a quick one, wonder if anyone else has had this. DD is 4mo on Thursday. She's recently learned how to roll over back to belly (can't roll the other way yet).

Before learning to roll she used to love tummy time and being on her activity mat. Now all she wants to do is roll over as soon as I put her down and as soon as she does, she gets upset as she doesn't want to be on her tummy! Then if I roll her back she does it straight away again!

So the HV said I should spend as much time on tummy as possible to enable her to roll the other way, but she seems to just hate it. All she likes doing is her roll!

I can't seem to keep her on her tummy any more!

Not to mention the stress this is causing me at night waking up to find her on her tummy...

Any advice?

No advice but I have a 6.5 month old who has never got on with tummy time.

She hated it up until around 4 months ish. Then she rolled back to front one day and hasn’t really bothered since then.

Now she will go on her tummy for a bit but quickly gets angry because she can’t get her bum up to crawl properly! I think she’s just more interested in learning to stand up/walk than crawling. She’s been sitting unaided for several weeks now and I have no concerns about her development.

I thought the purpose of tummy time was to strengthen neck muscles. LO had lots of time in the sling and on the shoulder and has great neck strength.

I think they just all have their preferences I suppose. LO is a nosey baby and always has to see what’s going on, which I guess is why she hates being face down on the floor.

I’d just keep trying tummy time when LO is in the mood. Next week we might like it again!

I wouldn't stress about it... HVs love doling out this type of advice

I didn't do tummy time with my ds as he hated it; i didn't want to ruin any good mood he was in by starting a screaming TT session

At 8 mo, he rolls both ways beautifully and effortlessly (amongst other things).
