10 month wants only me when we're with others - ok when I leave him ?

My 10 month old is driving me nuts at the moment. He can commando crawl and cruise the frniture and pull himself up on things so he's pretty mobile and means he can follow me round the house.

He goes to nursery 2 days a week and then the grandparents have him sometimes too. I have always left him and he's been happy to go to both sets of grandparents. He's also settled really well at nursery.

When we're with a group of people though (so family occasions for eg or other) he will not leave my side. It's quite wearing when you can't hand him to other people including dh. He also does it if strangers are in our house. Apparently he clung to one of the nursery staff when a maintenance man was needed in the baby room the other day. So, social gatherings are a bit trying for me.

It seems to have got worse in the last 2 weeks - maybe he's teething and a bit under the weather - he's already got 4 upper and 4 lower teeth so not sure what comes next.

Any tips/sympathy !!?

What about getting a sling ? At least then your hands are free and you might be able to hand him over in a sling to our DH for a break.

Don't think he'd sit in one to be honest plus I don't think my small frame can constantly support a 20lb plus baby !!...

Poor you. Maybe just try to enjoy having a cuddle while the phase lasts??? It really doesn't last for ever.
