Still not crawling !!

Hello,
So my almost 9 month old has been getting into the crawling position for the last 2 months but then doesn't do anything & gets really angry with herself.
I'm getting frustrated for her.
I know all baby's do things differently but I hate when people are saying. God she's still not crawling!! It's making me feel like we've done something wrong 😕 .
Is there something I should be doing?

Thanks x

Don’t worry too much, my DS was just the same. He was more interested in standing though so would spend ages stood up at the settee playing with things.

don't worry it's still early mine crawled at eleven months

My baby is 8.5 months and it hasn’t occurred to me I should be worried/concerned she isn’t crawling! I’m just enjoying my last days of freedom before I have to follow her around....

Thank you everyone. I think it's just others putting the doubt in my mind. I'm the first to tell other mums .. all babies are different.
It's just my nephew who is 3 months older crawled at 8 months & everyone comments on that. 😕

I love her so much I just want to know I'm doing everything I should be to help her xx

My babe was the same, then all of a sudden she was walking.
It took her a long time to figure out the crawling and she used to get soooo mad.
I know a lot of mums who's babies didn't start to crawl till 11 months and have only just started walking at 19 months.
They are all different, but they all get there.
How many adults do you know that still crawl or are carried everywhere?

ElyElyOy · 03/07/2018 18:44

My friend has just had similar worries and her daughter has now decided to focus on trying to walk and at 13 months has only just started but within about a week she is nearly there. My son didn’t crawl until he was 11 months and then it’s only been when he got to 13 months when he became confident with it.

Mine didn't crawl till his first birthday. He's perfectly normal. As is yours I'm sure!

cakeandteajustforme · 04/07/2018 20:08

And now at 18months has only just started walking. It's at the late end of normal but its still normal :)

It’s realky hard but try not to compare. Some crawl early, some walk early, some talk early. Almost all catch up Smile

My LO didn't start until 11 months and I felt the same, people kept saying "oh is she not crawling yet" like there was something wrong!

To encourage her I did a lot of crawling around her and "chasing" to demonstrate but ultimately it made no difference. I think being around other babies and watching them may have helped.

But honestly, once she starts you'll miss when she stayed still! I'm sure she's perfect, don't let comparisons with others make you nervous x

Thank you all so so much.
I think if she hadn't have been pretty much looking like she was about to for the last 2 months I wouldn't be as frustrated for her. Haha xx

I know what you mean OP, mine seemed to want to do badly, kept putting her hands down and rocking like she was about to crawl but never could bring herself to do it. She started shuffling on her bum in the end as an alternative and I was convinced she would never crawl, but eventually she did!
