I was discussing hitting my dc with someone yesterday, and saying I honestly cannot remember ever doing it and my dd says she couldn't either. Partly because of my childhood and it's just wrong.
Was being caned normal in the 1970s? My 'd' m used to keep a garden cane over the doorframe and threaten with or use it regularly. I can't remember what I had done wrong, but I can remember the pain of it and the evil look in her eyes.
