DS 7-month has possible blood in urine, pls help!

We on 2nd day of hols in Istanbul, Turkey. Noticed small reddish (orange?) patch in nappy where he weed. He is teething and been out of sorts since arrival, but no temperature and no sign of probs on/near willy. Has anyone had this?? Napies are Huggies and wee he just did seems ok. [gemmitygem DH acting as scribe in case style seems changed...]

does he seem in pain when he wees? (might be urinary infection?) maybe he's dehydrated? (wee goes darker when you've not had enough liquids.) i would def. keep an eye on it and if not better soon, seek out a GP there.

It might be this , mt eldest had something similar when he was a few months old, the Gp didn't know what it was , but when I spoke to HV she knew straight away.

Another link here about it (crystals in urine that react with nappy,) which MAY be caused by dehyradtion but not always.

Thanks for the replies CaptainUnderpants and americantrish. Crystals/dehydration do sound like most likely explanation. Keeping a close eye and gave him lots of liquids; he went down fine. Will keep you posted.
