Cluster feeding for 20 hours non stop

My almost 3 week old baby has been feeding constantly, I know cluster feeding is normal for breastfed babies but is it normal that she was feeding every hour through the night and every 5 mins- 45 mins today. She's now getting really frustrated trying to feed as if there is no milk left. Any tips? I'm so exhausted!

I'm no expert at all but how long is each feed? She may just be grazing for comfort (to sleep) and not filling tummy up each time. Cluster feeding is 100% normal, if she was not getting enough milk she would be inconsolably (sp?) crying from hunger so try not to worry that she's going hungry or anything like that but do discuss with midwife if you still get visits or health visitor who can reassure you better.

How are you getting on now @lizzyttc2017?

@JiltedJohnsJulie she finally gave into sleep and had about four hours! She's just woken now for some food :)

Oh that’s good, hope you’ve got some rest. If this is a new thing, I think there is a spurt around now. Think you might have to stock up on snacks and drinks until it passes and you’ve always go MN of course Smile

Once she has a lull in her feeding, I’d try some breast compressions to try and keep her feeding for longer. It may help, or it may not Smile
