my ds is 8mths and i am trying to get him to drink from a cup & get rid of the bottles. people have said that i am doing this too early, but i did the same with my other 3 at this age. does he get upset if you dont give him it?

DD1 is 3.3 and STILL has a bottle of milk before bed
i do water it down (4oz milk, 4oz boiling water) which gets it to the perfect temperature for her too.

sometimes she will have a beaker but more often than not she wants a bottle, like her sister (DD2 is 19m)

i have given up the battle with it, she'll give it up in her own time i'm sure.

quite often she wants milk first thing too, sometimes in a beaker, sometimes in a bottle. esp if she wakes up hungry. again, i just let her have it.

as long as they are not going to bed with it then i can't see it harming their teeth.

well i wasn`t sure whether to stop it now, which i know he will kick up a fuss about or just let him give it up when he is ready.....
everyone has different views...also he will not drink milk from a beaker but has tried a cup...i was thinking of telling him his bottle has broken so he has to have a cup then he might not want it!!! is that cruel?

I just don`t want him to get to 4yrs and still having milk from a bottle.

i know how you feel.

i had got her off the bottle, but then when i stopped bf and DD2 had a bottle, all merry hell broke loose so i gave in. i don't see how it really harms them tbh and i can see that she is becoming less attached to it.

ds is 3 next month and still has a bottle at least before bed. although we're stopping it when he turns 3.

dd2 is 3 in June and she still has a bottle. I think it will stop in its own good time, so am not too worried.

If she insists on taking a baby bottle to school with her, I may re-think
