When was your baby's first smile?

Just wondering when was your baby's first (non-reflex) smile really!

Our little one is five weeks, and I've read the first smile can be anytime from six weeks. We are really excited to see it!

Dd1's was the most clear. Bang on 5 weeks. She came off the breast at a night feed and smiled and smiled for about half an hour. I then spent the next day trying to get her to do it again and failing. That night while I fed her she obviously remembered this new trick she had that got a good reaction and came off and did it again. After that she smiled during the day too.
Dd2 didn't do an obvious first smile. She was a serious baby. I was only confident she'd smiled at about 9 months. She's do little ones, but not in reaction to anything and I really wasn't sure. She turned into a very smiley toddler.
Ds was just over a week, and I was really surprised. He smiled at anyone who came near-and even at animal faces too. I put it down to being #3 and taking any attention he could get.

A week! I had read it only happened after six weeks, so how exciting to see it after a week!

Yes, if he hadn't been my third I would have dismissed it as wind, but it was clearly in response to eye contact and faces.

Although when I was in hospital with dd1 the bed next to me had paid a photographer to take pictures and refused to pay until she had one of the baby smiling. Poor photographer who'd just spent an hour taking photos. Even when the midwife came and explained they swore baby had been born smiling so they wanted a photo with them all smiling.
It was very entertaining.
