Hysterical crying - 11 month old

My son is 11 months old & has had an ear infection recently, he's been very clingy with me and very sleepy which doctors said is normal! But over the last few nights he's been waking up every half hour to an hour hysterically crying and being inconsolable. He eventually goes back to sleep but it's so hard to hear the cries I've never heard him like it before. He was back at doctors on Wednesday & the doctor didn't seem concerned regarding his ear infection said it was all cleared up. I've been giving him calpol so I don't think it can be pain, he doesn't want any food so can't be hunger....any advice?

I’m so sorry to hear about this, I’ve been there with ear infections more than once, it was bloody horrible and I felt helpless to help. Can you try alternating Calpol with ibuprofen (if not intorelant). I would suggest another visit to the gp and just say what you’ve said here. Dd2 ended up with a double ear and throat infection so maybe worth checking her throat if they haven’t already. I gave mine an ice pole to suck, seemed to help. Good luck I totally know how you’re feeling.
