I was just wondering if anyone had any good toy suggestions for 6 month old babies - DS can sit up supported.

Things that rattle/squeak
Things with textures
Books with faces
Books where you make noises
Books with flaps
Stacking cups in different colours (you stack, he swipes & knocks them down) dd used to bash them together happily for hours.
plastic drink bottle with rice in it to shake (lid glued on)
ELC foam cubes for stacking/chewing/shaking
Empty shampoo bottles in the bath to kick/float (lids glued on)

My dd's favourites at 6 months were

  1. the baby nest,(some sitting support, lots of colours and textures and things that rattle/squeak/ting)and
  2. a mobile of bees that she used to bash, then giggle wildly when they flew round in front of her eyes
