Angry 2.5 year old

Can somebody please give me some advice or help me with my 2.5 year olds behaviour as I’m at my wits end and he has me in tears most days.

Over the last 6 or 7 weeks he’s turned from a really nice loving little boy to a really angry and aggressive little boy. He tells me (and screams at me) to go away, don’t like you, I want to punch/kick/hit you. He has the biggest tantrums that can go on and on (we don’t give in...we ride them out)

He can still be nice, but then it’s like a switch and he’s being horrible, then he’ll switch back again to being a lovely little lad again.

Is this all normal behaviour for his age? Or should I be concerned? It upsets me because I just don’t know what to do with him and we never know which little boy we’re going to wake up to.

I originally thought it was teething problems as his very back teeth are starting to come through and I’ve been told/read that these are the worst ones, he also plays with his ears a lot too.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you

Has he had any changes in his life recently like moving rooms at Nursery? If he’s playing with his ears, has he got a temperature?

He has recently started at nursery, 2 mornings a week. The behaviour started just before he started there.
He has no temperature but I think I'm going to give the doctors a ring and book him an appointment to get his ears checked out.
