My little boy is 2 years 8 months old.
He is the only child of dh and I, and was never around other children in the family as there aren't any.
He was with a childminder for almost a year from the age of 1. Then after advice from the health visitor at his 2 year check, we arranged for him to go to nursery, so he was mixing with other children. He loves it and it has really helped him in terms of his development and so on.
In terms of development the only area of concern is his speech. He can say words and can put some together, but the health visitor had concerns and recommended a referral to speech therapy. We asked the nursery their opinion and they agreed. So we are waiting for a referral for it.
We received a letter inviting us to go to 'chatterbox sessions' at the children's centre, and were told they are group sessions to give us ideas of things we can do to help him. They are every Thursday for 4 weeks. (Thursday is his nursery day, but luckily the nursery is located within the children's centre, so we can drop him off after the session).
The first one is tomorrow morning. I was wondering if anybody here might know more about them? Or if anyone has any info that may be of help to us? Thanks
