My DS is nearly 11 weeks old. He is my only child. He had a difficult start (EMCS, IUGR) but good catch up growth. He’s now on about the 75th centile for height and weight and physically strong (grabbing things, lifting his head etc), but in terms of responding to people I have some concerns. He burbles and cops a bit to himself and looks around at things but doesn’t catch people’s eyes, smile or imitate faces. I tried to pull faces at us both in front of a mirror and he doesn’t even look.
I mentioned to one GP at 8 week check and told to come back at 10 weeks which I did. Now been referred to an opthamologist. But this seems (if anything) more likely behavioural/neurological? Any thoughts?
