Can anyone recomend a good book for introduce my DD (23 months) to the idea of potty training? or any good books with potty training advice. Also any tips in general for potty training. I'm expecting my second child in 6 weeks so was going to leave potty training till later but she is showing signs of readiness and poohed on potty other night after her bath - it was her own idea I suppose life will just get busier after birth of sibling so maybe should just go for it now? any ideas?

I bought a book from Sainsburys thatw as quite good. I would say skip the training pants and go straight to pants - make a big fuss of going to buy them with her and let hwer choose her fav characters (ASDA great for cheap ones) If she is ready I think I would go for it. My friends DD wanted to use the potty when my DS the same age was training but as she was expecting baby no 2 and had read somewhere that you should not do potty trainjing 3 months either side of a new baby. IMO she made a boit of a rod for her own backa nd should have just gone for it, as found it far harder to do 3 months later

only, don't push it, she may have done it once but won't mean she will do it again, I would wait till the Summer, poos and wees are much easier to deal with when she is wearing less clothes and outside etc, 6 weeks to the new baby? why stress yourself out trying to do it now, 2,3 months down the line might much easier, quicker and less agro! I only say this as I have a 3 month old and a 5 year old boy and I've never been so darn tired in my entire life and he's at school!

I tried to potty train my ds when he was 2.4 yo and I was expecting dd last year. We had many accidents and I didn't have the energy in later stages of pregnancy to deal with the mess so we left it. Never managed to do it before dd was born and HV said not to do it while dd was so small. However, ds decided when dd was 1mo that he wanted 'to wear pants like daddy' and we took it from there. Because he was ready, it was really easy even with newborn. Sounds like your dd is ready so go with the flow. If it doesn't work, leave it for a while and try again.
