hi guys, my kids 5 and 2 always ask to eat right before bed. no they don't eat enough of their dinner but i don't want to force them and i think they get enough food throughout the day. i end up giving them wholemeal pitta bread or offering a banana or an apple right before bed. do you think this is bad for them? xxx

Personally I would offer a plain supper 45-60 minutes before bed. (The Pitta bread, banana sounds fine) I believe that you shouldn't brush your teeth within 30 minutes of eating and drinking (happy to be corrected on this) hence the gap between supper and bed.

My DS has a banana half an hour before bed, usually on account of not eating well at dinner. I don't think it's an issue as long as teeth are cleaned before sleep
