My 35 month old girl had a virus and a temp of 40.6 (urine infection) was on antibiotics then finished them last Monday. Now is a changed child, won’t respond to her name, not smiling, not giggling, it’s like a light has gone off in her! Been back to drs they have done blood works all clear, urine test normal. She is under speech & launguage but there is no red flags for autism. Going to see peds on Tuesday for her 7 month review and I’m so scared she is autistic !
She had smiled and giggled today but she is not the same!
Im scared :(

Anyone else had similar experience ?

Have you tried her with a dose of painkillers to see if that improves her mood?

Yep calpol and nurophen. Seems better today but still not back to normal.
Just seems not herself...

If she’s still not responding to her name, can she hear properly? It might be worth going back to the GP and asking them to check her ears, throat and tummy, just in case there is anything that’s been missed.

Got hearing test on Monday. Dr examined her last week and all fine.
Doesn't seem in pain or distressed just not herself! Seems like her sparkle has gone.
Maybe urine infection knocked it out of her; that's what I'm hoping.

My daughter has been put on a social communication pathway :( I'm heartbroken.
She was coming on so well and now this!

She has been referred to peds as still got urine infection and temp of 37.5 constantly. So could it be an infection or am I deluding myself?

I've read about regression but what I've read about it is just a child hits all their miles stones and then they regress. My daughter was slightly delayed in walking and had launguage delay but nothing else.

Can she get back to how she was? Anyone experienced this?

Everyday seems hard and bleak :(
