Slow development

My 8 month old isn’t sitting up unaided yet and even falls to the side when I put a cushion behind him to help support him. I see all other babies this ages crawling around, rolling and sitting but my baby isn’t doing any of this. It’s as if he’s still a newborn

I’m sure there are plenty of babies just like this but I would call your HV on Tuesday, explain your concerns and ask her to assess him, even if it’s only to put your mind at rest

I agree with jilted, no harm in checking. Do as much tummy time as you can to build core strength, at that age there is no need for them to be lying on their back all the time. My DS crawled early but couldn't sit unaided until he was 8mo so children develop different skills at different ages.
