When does being used as a climbing frame end?!

Dd is doing so well balancing etc. She's 11 months and almost walking.
But she's using me as a climbing frame all the time and then attempting to throw herself off us onto the floor. I have to grab her tightly an then she starts screaming and I feel awful about it. We spend hours with her practising walking and teaching her on the floor but it seems like a frustration thing now. An it's constant, say if I'm bathing her she will get out of her seat and use it to climb. Everything. I've baby proofed but it's really getting me down. I don't know what else to do. She has toys to pull herself up with etc but she isn't interested. I don't mind playing with her just the climbing it driving me insane. Particularly as she uses my nipples to grip onto and at 38 weeks pregnant it really really hurts.

Any advice?

I don’t think it will last long, she’ll be walking soon enough Smile

Sounds normal for her stage but clashing with your pregnancy stage. Do you have other people around who could offer to do more of the climbing frame stuff with her? My DD is 13 months and I remember a nipple grabbing stage, it will pass as she gets more stable but my strategy for that was to offer a finger to grab onto before she got the nipple. If she does hurt you I’d just say no firmly, detach her hand and then give her something else she can hold to pull up on (hand, pull up toy, furniture)

Mine is 3 and still climbs all over me!

Mine is two and climbs all over me, I'm also 38 weeks pregnant so I feel your pain. She has nearly knocked me off my birthing ball a couple of times when she has tried to get up on me to climb on me for a cuddle.

It depends, if she is a 'climber' you may have years left. If I'm sat on the sofa my 3yo will often climb up my back and sit on my shoulders and bounce up and down shouting "Horsey horsey don't you stop". If I lie on the floor the 3yo and 21mo will stand on my back. I try to think of it as improving their balance beautifully whilst also providing me with a low-rate massage.
