Hiya,

My LO is 10 and a half months old and crawling everywhere! I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas for games or activities we could do to keep him entertained. I'm particularly interested in sensory ideas 😊😊 Thanks!

I’ve brought a bubble machine for mine. She loves it!

Light projectors that make a room seem like a disco seem to be a big hit with kids.

Build a fort or erect a pop up tent so they can hide.

Get a bouncy ball and practice rolling to each other. You can get those toys that vibrate and tricky to pick up.

Have you tried making Play Dough. That might keep him interested for about 2 minutes Smile

IF it’s sensory stuff you are after try edible finger paints, there should be some recipes ont’internet or a [[https://littlebinsforlittlehands.com/all-about-sensory-bins-5-things-need-know/ Sensory Box. Yiu can also put things like jelly and spaghetti on the tray of their high chair and let them play. You might want to put a shower curtain on the floor first though Smile

DD like pulling tissues out of a box, that would keep her busy for a bit. Hace you tried building an obstacle course site cushions and things for him to crawl through? You can get play tunnels and play tents fairly cheaply or you can always make temporary ones by draping sheets over chairs.

When the weather warms up you can try outdoor chalks or mud pies Smile

Thanks so much guys. Fab ideas! I'm not sure how to quote your names back-up new on this. Love the idea of edible paint and playdough. We are going to have some fun on my days off this week 😁

You can quote names back by putting an @ sign before the name which gives you @Fluffybat or by putting directly before the first part of the name and after which will give you Fluffy*.

Hope you have some fun. Let us know how you get on Smile

I really wish I'd got a pop up tunnel for DD when she was that age. They're great.

Anxiouschild · 25/03/2018 03:17

A tunnel is a great addition. You will get plenty of use out of it as they get older and it can be set up in the garden when the weather improves. My nearly 4yo still loves ours.

Does your local children's centre run messy play sessions? Ours only run them during the school hols but they are worth visiting at £1/child. No setting up or cleaning up! Bring a small towel and a change of clothes for baby and make sure you wear old clothes [remembers lady in beautiful white lacey blouse getting covered in paint].

Thanks @Rainatnight and @Anxiouschild will definitely be investing in a tunnel. Will have a look at children's centre! Sounds fab.
