So our baby is now 11 weeks, born at 36.

He has recently start cooing a bit, but does not do social smiling (well, he does smile a bit at feeds sometimes, but it's either gas, or, as he has reflux, is the only time he is actually comfortable).

He cries a lot aside from reflux.
He does not focus gaze on our faces much- he can see and follow toys, but does not reach for them.
Passed his hearing test in hospital, but ignores us often, especially when he has his dummy in- just stares at some point in the room intensely.

There are points in the day (like early morning or late afternoon) when he seems to be interested by our faces, but otherwise he just seems in his own world. I am looking at babies in the children centre around, sometimes younger, who do so much more interaction, and ours is just so unsettled and crying and completely not paying attention to sounds and tings around him :(

Anyone has a similar baby and could say when their babies started to interact a bit more?

I’m sorry I can’t help with experience on this or advice but being born at 36 weeks sounds like you should adjust the age developmentally, so perhaps your baby is doing things that any 7 week old would do but not what an 11 week old would do? I know people with preemie babies and twins and they always say HV’s say adjust the age and don’t expect them to be on the same level as other babies their age for everything because they are still playing catch up
