Silly question - how old is my baby!

This might seem a silly question - but do most of you age your baby by calendar months or by four week months? (For example - my dd was born on 27th dec, will she be six months at 24 weeks or at the end of june?)Very keen for her to get to six months so can wean - put her in her own room etc!

Soory to butt in, but surely you wait until you think your child is ready for weaning / going in their own room, rather than spooning food into their mouths and turfing them out on the dot of their 6 months?

They may be ready a little before the "official" 6 months or a little (or a lot) after - you should be led by your child, not the calendar and "guidelines".

thanks emsiewill, good point -dont worry I'll make sure she is ready. I was just interested to know when she would be actually at the recommended age! I've been a bit ahead of myself.

Hope I didn't sound too bolshy - it's just that I remember trying to do everything exactly "by the book" when my 2 were born (esp dd1 of course) and nearly drove myself mad.

I do think I would be much more baby-led now - just because I can see with hindsight (the best kind!) that it makes life much easier. However, that is irrelevant, as I don't plan to have any more...so obviously I share my thoughts unasked for on here!

No - you didn't sound bolshy at all. I do get a little bit over concerned about timings - should just relax and let her develop in her own time (as she is doing - very well).
Just really looking forward to giving her solids - she is getting increasing frustrated with bf.
