Very fussy 4yr old eater - help!

My 4yrs old son is getting fussier and fussier with eating meals and I am at the point of despair. He’s never been great at meals but he is getting worse. Now he will have Greek yoghurt and maple syrup for breakfast and maybe cinnamon Graham’s. For lunch he has Nutella sandwiches, an apple and some strawberries at school. Dinner time he will have plain pasta, occasionally chicken nuggets and baked beans. He would eat chocolate, crisps and yoghurt all day if I let him so it’s not an appetite issue. It’s fussiness. He used to eat bolognese, macaroni cheese, pesto pasta etc but not any more. I have a 5yr old also who eats well although not a great range either. He starts school in September so I’m hoping school lunches will help. Does anyone have any experience? Any advice?

Watching with interest. My ds only eats a handful of things - no fruit or veg at all.

It's tough but if they don't eat what they have been made for dinner then they don't eat. They will only do this for a very short space of time as they won't starve themselves. Don't give them a menu. Serve dinner, give them time to eat and they don't they say there is nothing else.

We do it and it works, they eat everything put in front of them now.

Remove snacks too if they don't eat their 4 main meals.

Hope this helps and you need to ignore the whining as it is just noise and then trying to control.
