good and safe internet sites for six year olds

Hi. Looking to pick everyones brains. My six year old DS is very computer literate and after a couple of minor incidents we are now restricting his internet use. However, rather than being entirely negative about the whole thing we were wondering about finding him some really good websites to keep him occupied. He's getting a bit bored with Cbeebies and sometimes even CBBC. Any suggestions?

ds 7 loves this - there is a good hang man thing - lots of platform games etc. I had a mindless wander through before he was allowed on and couldn't find anything I wouldn't want him to do.
