My DD is 3 in a couple of weeks and whilst she can say nearly all words very well when asked to say them - she can string a few sentences together but she mainly repeats what we say to her when asked a question. ive met up with a few friends and their little ones are about 6 months younger and i can have a lovely little conversation with them but with my little girl she will just repeat what i say or ask her. Im starting to worry she isnt communicating at a level she should be. How do i go about seeking some help or advice with this? i dont want to make a GP appointment as i feel like it would be wasting a slot for someone who is poorly. any help or advice would be appriciated!

You can self refer to Speech and Language Therapy in most areas, I’d ask at your GOs surgery how you go about it.

I’d also ask you HV to assess her.
