Hi all

So I am after a little bit of advice because today is not a good day. My 19 month old baby girl is not communicating really at all. She hasn't said her first word yet and she babbled at around 12 months mama/dada/baba ect. Since then she hasn't done any babbling. She is not communicating non verbally either no waving/pointing. She isn't interested in people around her (other than me) when I call her name she is no responsive. She likes a cuddle with me and likes to shout at lot. My husband and I took her for a hearing test and that all seems ok.
The red flags for autism seem to be coming up and I am struggling to deal with that. Any advice will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you
A concerned parent

Lots of 18 month olds aren't talking in my experience. I'm a mum of 3 and 2 of my kids were over 2 before they spoke. These 2 were more interested in practicing physical stuff like climbing and jumping than chatting.

Are you in the U.K. OP? Is so, I’d call your HV and ask for an assessment.

Have you heard of M-Chat too?

I would visit the gp and speak to the health visitor and ask for a referral to a community peaditrician
Is there anything else about her development your worried about and does she have any sensory issues.
