Walkers/Jumpers etc

I've been looking at the Babylo jubilee and the MyChild Roundabout both of which are a activity centre that turns into a walker.

Are there any others out there?

I like the MyChild one as it's a bouncer too and DD likes jumping around just now.

I thought, but could be wrong (I often am ) that walkers weren’t advised these days?

I agree with EveryoneTalkAboutPopMusic I don’t think they’re advised but stores still sell them. I’m not sure on the NHS stance on them.

Still advertised here in Scotland.

Here is a more recent article. Basically, the evidence is not conclusive and the most reliable research (clinical trials) has not shown any development delay in children using walkers.

FWIW, I did not use a walker with my DD since her gross motor development is running late (she has hypermobile hip joints). However if she had not had those problems, I would have gone for it. Most babies I know seem to enjoy their walkers.

NHS recommend liming time spent in walkers and bouncers to 20 minutes:

Lol, just spending more time now on baby development board (moving here from Sleeping/Feeding/Weaning). Was worried about DD gross motor skills until figured out the problem is hips hypermobility.

DD has a activity board thingy and door bouncer! Oh dear lol. But she gets fussy in them after 15 minutes or so anyway, loves them to start with. The items are on loan so looking into purchasing a combined toy as I think it would be more long term... Things that grow with them definitely are my favourite!

Our 6 month old recently started on her jumperoo and it’s only for 30 mins a day, she plays with the toys on it as well as jumps, she loves it

My little one had a walker. (I didn’t realise there was advice against them) he loved it. He wasn’t in it all the time but before he could walk he just wanted to be up and about and iT was great for him
