Hi just wanting some advice and also to see if anyone else has experience , I'm a first time mum to a little boy who is now 30 months old . At his 2 year assessment they sent him for a hearing check and speak therapy . His hearing check was fine and said there is nothing wrong with his hearing and I havnt heard from the speech therapist yet but I don't know whether to be concerned or not a few people I know have said boys are "lazy" but not sure if they are just saying that he understands everything if I ask him to pass me something put his coat on ect and can say so many words he will repeat thing , if I show him a picture he will tell me what it is he can tell me all the names of paw patrol characters , count to 12 and also say the usual hello bye bye night mum/dad etc but he doesn't really talk to me if that makes sence ? He won't say drink mummy for example he would just point to it he can sometimes put 2 words together but apart from that he doesn't say sentences or have little conversations . Sorry for the long post just interested in other people experience x

So he's two and a half....he sounds ok really. I know he's behind but the main thing is that he understands what you're saying to him and that he asks for things (in his own way)

Keep talking to him, keep modelling the right way to communicate...try to get him amongst other children and read to him as much as possible.

Thankyou , I have just put him into nursery 3 days a week so he is around more children so I'm hoping maybe that will bring him on aswell xx
