Crawling

Hi,

My DD is 9 months and is not crawling or pulling herself up yet....

She sat unaided from 7 months.

She hates being on her stomach so every time I put her on her front she just cries.

When do most babies crawl?!

Thanks!

My little guy never crawled...not even much butt shuffling happened... I would place him on his tummy and he'd roll over straight away. He would stay in the crawl position the odd time but never move. He took his first steps at around 9months and a week I think.altho he was pulling himself up on stuff (albeit very wobbly like) previous to this. We worried as all the books and everyone you talk to says that crawling should have been happening before then so we panicked. One day as with everything else I've worried about,he just took off....for his daddy I might add,not me... if you're very worried or there are other signs adding to the situation contact your health nurse for sure but id say it could be any time soon. I have 3 siblings and I was the earliest to walk at just before 9 months..nowadays if I'm walking it's to the fridge for more wine haha my eldest brother didn't walk till 13 months and he's as slim and healthy as a jack rabbit haha. If I learned one thing from being a parent is take the books with a pinch of salt coz every child is different and some take a bit more time than others. Hope yu aren't fretting too much

Thank you for your response.

Sounds exactly the same. She’s been rocking back and forth on all fours for months as well... used to crawl backwards but doesn’t even bother doing that now!

Hopefully it’ll be another couple of weeks so I can stop worrying :)

I bet it'll be any time. Our little guy used to do that if we put him in the crawl pose. More often than not he'd roll over but the odd time he would rock back and forth and the very odd time he moved a bare bit backwards. Didn't do it much at all. Then stunned us all one day.

My DD exactly the same! Health visitor says it's fine. I'm just trying to enjoy not having to chase her around the place for the time being...!

Ahh I’ll make the most of it for the time being then! Just excited to see her on the move.
