Please help!

My 14 week old is concerning me so much.
He appears in his own world. He prefers looking at objects than people. He actively turns away from people unless they are right up close. He will smile at people but it takes a lot of effort to get a smile. He will smile at objects tho. He does not try and get our attention at all and he does not turn to our voices. Please advise!

He also has no interest in toys or reaching for things

Did he pass his newborn hearing check?

Try not to worry OP. He’s very little and they change so quickly at this age. Some babies do tend to be more smiley and responsive than others and it doesn’t mean anything is wrong.

He did pass it. I'm sure he can hear as he has startled at a couple of things. Mostly he does not startle much either tho 😕

He's very little OP.Some babies are just a bit more serious than others. My eldest was such a serious baby until 2ish but is an absolute giggler full of joy now.

My second didnt really reach for toys for a while either, but is a tornado at 19 months. But IIRC he had a brief quiet phase about your DC's age where he was just taking everything in and wasn't really into anything or anyone!Oh how that changed!!😩

Ask your Dr if you are worried, but I'm sure he's fine.
