I am proud that today my 10 yo ds found me the person, who he wanted to show and tell about his first pubic hairs! In his nether regions...
I am touched, but also just want to check if it is normal too....

My 7yo ds keeps telling me he has some too piffleoffagus. He does have some on his legs actually (hairy father so it's not surprising) but I couldn't see the one he was on about on his penis tbh. I just said I believed him! Bless them, I think we should be touched and honoured, the day will come when they don't want to tell us things I'm sure.

All I recall of my brothers is that one day when they about 17 I noticed they were swarthy, we were a pretty close family but mum has confirmed the first view of either of their man fluff was when db had measles and nearly died at age 15! And that was down to hospital emergency procedure!
She admits to never seeing the other db's...
It kinda feels like it should be secret to him IYKWIM, but he is so proud and I am almost moved to tears that as his mum he feels he can come to me with complete joy in his eyes and tell me!

I did exactly the same when I was 10 I ran through from the bathroom to the kitchen to show my mum. I was really excited, but I think she thought I was worried/panicking, and started reassuring me. This made me feel like I had done something wrong, and got quite shy about my body soon after this...

I gave him a hug, giggled with him and said thanks for telling me, I appreciate knowing these things laddo! We keep having private pube jokes, it is actually hysterically funny, we both collapsed in stiches in a shopping mall today...
oh that looks a like a pair of shorts for a boy with fluff...
PMSL and him too, he is such fun!

That sounds great

I'll remember this in 5 years time!

oh piffle I hope I can be like you when fluff time happens - or any of those physical changes. I am so totally dreading it. I don't know why I feel so unreasonably apprehensive. I will keep my feelngs from my son of course. I guess it marks the beginning of the next stage.

lydialemon · 31/07/2004 08:27

It's lovely that he can share this with you - bodes well for the next couple of years!

I did the same thing BTW, found some and ran around the house naked showing my mum and dad

My baby is growing up-caught myself staring at my 14 year old lying on his bed and showing hairy armpits! Know he's got "fluffy" bits, 'cos I tucked him him one night and he didn't have his pj's on. Was really shocked and felt a bit pervy (I am his mum) but he's starting to act like a grown-up (occasionally) when he's not being a complete Kevin. Tugs a bit sometimes at the old heartstrings as he looks a lot like my ex-dh, when he was being nice to me. He's got the same smile etc..anyone else feel like that sometimes? It feels like I'm being disloyal to Dh2, who I love to bits. Oh well, only another three to get through puberty!

Piffleoffagus · 04/08/2004 19:35

ds does look a lot like his dad my exp at times, but then in photos of him and me at the same age, we look like twins. I'll scan the pics one day and show everyone, it shocks everyone, when ds firt saw the photo, he said who is that other boy in the bath with me? It was me and my little brother me aged about 9! Freaky indeed.
I don't feel pervy, I need to know these things, how far along the adolescent path he is on etc, forewarned is forearmed!
