dd1 is 3.5 and is very happy, confiden soul most of the time. She's very bright (i know everyone thinks this about their child) and enjoys most of what we do, adores nursery school etc. She doesnt seem to enjoy the company of other 3 yr olds much.. she makes friends with the older kids at nursery and when her 3 year old friends come to play or we go to them, she doesnt really want to do what they are doing. She has always prefered to be with adults. She seems to resent being treated like a child so we treat her more like a little grown up. She gets on with other kids fine but doesnt really play like other little girls do... this doesnt bother me...she's normal right?

My ds1 is 3.9 and only just getting interested in playing with children his own age (sometimes). Older children and adults (and his little brother) are usually much more fun.

well... she's always played with them until the last 6 months or so, she seems to have outgrown them... keeps saying that they are 'too silly'!!

fine

My son was like this when he was young - much preffered adults etc. now he is 7 and has friends and joins in no problem.

Don't worry
